Southwest Thailand

The southwestern most part of Thailand lies along the Malay Peninsula. On the eastern side, it is bordered by the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea is on its western shore. About halfway down the Thai section of the peninsula is Railay Beach. This is a resort area that boasts a host of activities in a tropical beach setting. Visitors here will find more than they ever dreamed as soon as they arrive.

Blue ocean waters and white sand beaches are only two of the attractions of this beautiful beach area. Tropical jungle growth for jungle trekking lies atop the towering karst cliffs. Railay is fast becoming known as a rock climbers dream. There are climbing areas available for people with a wide range of climbing experiences, from beginner to expert. For those that prefer to stay at sea level, Railay has sea caves that are a joy to explore in a canoe or kayak.

The height of the land lends itself to white water rafting. There are many rivers to choose from, and all experience levels can be accommodated. There are even a few rafting rivers where children can participate in this exciting sport. For those that want a little less adventure, kayaking on calm water is also available. Exploring under the sea is an adventure for snorkelers.

No traveler wants to miss out on the food, and Railay Beach offers many choices of restaurants as well as cooking lessons. After a long day of elephant trekking or kayaking through hidden lagoons, it would be wrong to leave Thailand without experiencing traditional thai massage. For those that want to experience authenticity, thai massage is a unique way to feel great and be healthier after a session. Many resorts offer massage on site. Yoga is one more attraction for the visitor to experience.
